Week 4 Composition: Carolan Carol

This tune has a simple accompaniment, and I want to compose some variations. I didn't care for it initially, but it has grown on me. And today a viewer I didn't know, commented very positively about it, (suggesting she hadn't heard this Carolan before). That has bolstered me up. It is so hard to know what I think of what I compose. By the time I have worked the tune over, and practiced it a bit, I tend to like what I am playing. So I can't be very objective about my own work, and sweet to hear someone thought it was "lovely".

Carolan's Carol; undeveloped.

I thought it sounded a bit like Carolan, but the more I played it, I thought it was another hymn-like melody; so I named it Carolan Carol. I want to compose and add the passing tones in the bass, and some more interesting rhythm and harmony.
